Dr. Patricia A. Padden, C.Psych
Dr. Padden earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science
in Psychology from the University of Texas, Texas. She received
her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas A & M University,
Texas. She is registered as a Psychologist in Ontario, practicing
in Clinical Psychology; she is also registered with the Canadian
Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She has
earned her Proficiency Certificate in the treatment of Eating
Disorders from the International Association of Eating Disorder
Professionals, Florida.
She has done extensive advance training in the areas of Obsessive
Compulsive Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorders,
as well as, all of the Anxiety States at Harvard Medical School,
Massachusetts, and New England Educational Institute, Massachusetts.
She has extensive staff experience in Psychiatric Inpatient
and Outpatient Hospitals in the United States, 5 years with
the U.S. Air Force in West Germany and Turkey, and with York
Central Hospital, Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Her voluntary roles have included being President of the
European Division of the American Psychological Association.
She served to represent Canada as a member on the Board of
Directors for the International Association of Eating Disorder
Professionals, an Officer on the Board of Directors for the
Ontario Society of Clinical Hypnosis. A founder of the Ontario
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Network, and served for 10 years
as a member of their Board of Directors. She is presently,
for the second time, a member of the Executive and Board of
Directors for the Ontario Psychological Association and a
past President of the Section on Independent Practice for
Psychologists. She has also been an Examiner of New Psychological
Registrants for the Ontario Board of Examiners in Psychology
(now the College of Psychologists of Ontario), which licenses
Psychologists. She is regularly called upon to present at
Psychological Programs in her area of expertise nationally
and internationally.
